In Washington D.C. on September 12th

I had many more pictures but decided just to post these. There were soooo many people there. Cal and I got off of the metro at the Archives stop and the line of people was constant from the White House (Freedom Plaza) to the Capitol Building for about 2 hours. Most, like us, left a little while after getting to the front. Some (very few really) had insulting or demeaning signs. Most were of the homemade variety like these. People are getting very upset that our government is spending too much money, taxing too much and getting to involved in our lives. At least that was my impression. It was interesting to witness.

I love the signs - wish there were more photos of them - people are so clever when they get mad. It's too bad this event wasn't covered by the press as much as it should have been. Until I saw another friend's pictures, I had no idea there was such a large turnout. Now if we could just get people to realize it's about the money, and not all the other inuendoes the press is speculating about, maybe we could get something accomplished with healthcare reform that is affordable and correct. Thanks for sharing.
